Dr. Gene Wei is a Primary Care Provider and Board Certified Doctor of Oriental Medicine in the state of Florida. He is also the co-author of “A Day in The Budwig Diet,” one of the leading resources explaining the anti-cancer diet created by renowned German scientist Dr. Johanna Budwig.
While completing his studies at the University of California Los Angeles, Dr. Wei had the unique opportunity to study overseas, both in China and Brazil. Though he was contemplating Western medical school at the time, studying abroad gave him the opportunity of being treated and taught by renowned physicians and healers in their respective countries.
Having suffered from an array of chronic illnesses during his time at UCLA, Dr. Wei was very familiar with the best that conventional medicine had to offer. Though this was beneficial in its own right, being exposed to other forms of medicine abroad is what allowed him to overcome his chronic conditions. This fortunate experience allowed him to rehabilitate himself to complete health, and steered him into a career in Natural Medicine.
After graduating from UCLA, Dr. Wei continued his studies, both at Yo San University in Los Angeles, Ca. and East West College of Natural Medicine in Sarasota, FL where he graduated with the highest honors. He holds a Masters of Science in Oriental Medicine and is a Board Certified Doctor of Oriental Medicine and Acupuncture Physician in the state of Florida (NCCAOM).
Dr. Wei specializes in three areas of practice: Pain Management, Functional Medicine and Complementary and Integrative Cancer Care.
“As a physician, being able to experience severe chronic illness is actually a blessing. The road from illness to optimal health is full knowledge that only experience can impart. This is what guides me daily in my practice.”
